Going to the Dinosaur Museum and Jordan Commons

We had so much fun yesterday. We picked up Maddie from UVU and then we went up to Thanksgiving Point. I have been wanting to take Ollie to the Dinosaur Museum for a long, long time. We finally made it. Maddie and Grandma went to see Mama Mia while I took the kiddies. Addy and Skyler hung out and ate ice cream--although they did make it into the Museum to come and get Lolo to feed him. I'm certain they didn't pay to get in, but they had a good reason. It's amazing to think of how old our universe is and just how long ago dinosaurs were right here in this happy valley. The kids had fun and then we went to see Spacechimps/The Dark Knight at Jordan Commons. Addy and Skyler saw the movie at the IMAX.

Homemade Pizza

Most of the pizza is chicken and pepperoni, but on my part I put onions and garlic filled green olives. I hope it tastes good. I got the crust recipe from Craig Gallup. Boy to I make it a lot.

Sting and Roxanne

I hope that writing with a fountain pen is not becoming a lost art. I know it's not a lost art when it comes to my Dad and me. We love our fountain pens. I have named my yellow pen Sting and the red one is Roxanne. I have been keeping Sting in a zip-lock bag so he doesn't dry out. It's working!!! You see, he is retractable and doesn't have a lid. Roxanne is great. She has a smooth stroke--so you are wondering--do I just type on my blog? No, I write in my journal too and I will continue to do so. I love to write in my kids' baby books and I love writing cards to people--and letters too. Writing for me is therapy. I am going to a poetry group on Thursday night. I can't wait. Maybe I will write some poetry tonight--kids permitting. I have a pizza in the oven for when my parents, Addy, Ollie and Skyler get back from Moab.

Paddy Cake Paddy Cake

Lolo and Nena were really interacting and having fun this morning playing Paddy Cake. Addy claims he taught this new trick to Lolo and I will take his word for it. Lolo loves to clap his hands. He used to mostly miss his hands and now he gets it just about every time. It's way cute. Anyway, Lolo and Nena were just laughing and laughing. I got so much joy watching them.

Fountain Pen Fettish

O.K. My Dad is so awesome. He sold a painting and with the money he got, he bought himself and me new fountain pens. It's amazing. I was frustrated and wondering what to do 'cause my Pilot fountain pen wasn't working right. I was cleaning it and trying to get it usable. I looked at pens on the internet and thought they were too much so I get my phone to consult my Dad. There is a voice mail from him telling me to look under the seat of the Accord--passenger side and I start to tremble as I see the Tabula Rasa bag--I open it and there is the cutest card and a brand new red fountain pen--just like the one I had in Eau Claire whose tip got bent. Wowee!!! Check this out!!!!

Celebrating the 24th by sleeping at Maddie's, cleaning the kitchen and then going to Spanish Fork for the carnival

We had a lot of fun spending the night at Maddie's until she got mad at Addy for being too rough with the kids--we almost left without eating the delicious pancakes she made for us. The night before, we had fun eating ice cream, watching the old Police MTV music videos and playing with silly puddy while driving in the car. When our car ran out of gas, we ditched it at one of the lightrail stations and took the train to Maddie's place. It was quite fun and Maddie did a good job of getting Nena to sleep. We brought Marcie some dinner and had a lovely but sad visit with her. On the 24th we stayed inside most of the day and then went to the carnival. The kids had fun and fell asleep on the way home yeah!!! I spent all of my personal time looking for Perky though. Oh well--I was going to read The Grass Harp by Truman Capote. Maybe tonight--just maybe.

More Pics

Kickin' it with Grandma and Grandpa, Laura, Noah and Nathaniel at Daybreak

We had so much fun yesterday. Maddie called and I was going to go with her to visit Marcie, but she couldn't get a hold her so we ended up meeting Laura and the boys at Daybreak. Boy, did we have a fun night. We started out with piano lessons for Noah and Nat and then we went to the pool. This is one nice pool. They have a hot tub too. Ollie and Nena love the water--so does Lolo. We swam for a while and then went to the lake. Noah and Nat each got their own boats and then Ollie went with my parents. The lake is so pretty. While at the pool Laura and I remembered all of our good times swimming at the Ranch House pool in Littleton. During the summer we swam every day. Good times were had by all!!!

Here is a not so great shot of the moon

The Police Concert

I think Maddie was the first one to tell me that the Police were coming to Salt Lake in concert. This was quite a while ago. We bought our tickets the day they went on sale up at the Smith's in Sugarhouse. Since then, we have been anticipating and waiting. Well, last night it finally came to fruition and it was everything I thought it would be and more. I have been listening and loving the Police and Sting since I was in 7th-8th grade. We have read the autobiography that Sting wrote. I love his lyrics and his zest for life and love. I tried to look like a bee last night. See what you think... my Dad did a great job of babysitting. He made it all possible. Please see the picture of the three youngest in our bed. It's so tender. Also take note of the moon. It rose up full during the encore numbers and it was breathtaking. It truly was a magical night.

Taking kids to McDonald's

We were at the McDonald's playland yesterday and there was a guy there with his wife and kids and he said, "I don't think I have any pictures of my kids at McDonald's. I'm just trying to get some." He seemed really excited. I said, "Ya, whether we want to admit it or not, we all take our kids to McDonald's." I was thinking of how we went to McDonald's when we were in Turkey in 2001. It was so cool and so fun. It was in an old, old, old building and it was beautiful and familiar. I have been to others in I think Belgium--I think and in Puerto Rico and there is just something familiar and awkwardly comforting about being in a place that is so North American and such a reminder of home. I will post some pics of my kids there--probably the on in East Bay and I won't hide the fact--like this guy. He really was kinda proud. Love to have your comments...

More of the Lody Lody Lo

Nena in her ballerina swimsuit.

I couldn't resist getting this suit for her at the Nordstrom Rack. She looks so dear in it. I love her sooooo much. She is so fun.

Tucanos with Suzy and her beautiful sisters

I am now a Young Living Distributor!!!

My sister, Pat, and I have been thinking about joining for over two years now and we are finally doing it. I guess a main selling point is the quality of the oils and the fact that they have a farm in Ecuador. I think that is pretty awesome. It's in Guayaquil but some day I will get down there to see it. When we go to Ecuador, we usually stay pretty close to Quito although we do go to the beach every time. I can't wait to get some oils!!! It was so beautiful down in Mona today. The lavender is gorgeous. Ollie, Lolo and I had a blast drinking lavender lemonade and looking around the gardens. Waa hooooooo.
