Holding Lolo for 80% of the day
Well, I think I reached my goal. I think that Naui held Lolo the other 20% and Heidi held him a lot when we were at the India Festival (Festival of Colors). I love holding him and he is growing up so fast. I told Naui that some people are attached to their homes, cars, whatever. I seriously am attached to this kid. If it was a sin and some say it is, I am willing to be locked up. I love, loove, love, love, this kid. I want to bury my lips in his cheeks and I do.
Dagoba Chocolate
From The Alchemist's Notebook--Dagoba Chocolate
"As we approached the cacao tree, I felt like a 9 year old on Christmas. Once my hands touched the gift, I didn't even have to unwrap it to know Santa brought me exactly what I wanted. I plucked the pod from the tree, cracked it open and pulled out the pulp laden beans. We popped them into our mouths. Sweet success, literally..."
This little entry is on the wrapper to the Dagoba chocolate bar. If you haven't tried them--you really should. I've tried the lavender, the rose hips and the spicy peppery one. When we go to Ecuador next, I really want to eat a bean straight from the cacao tree. I'll let you know if I feel like it's Christmas morning--until then, I can get these bars at The Good Earth. I've also seen them at Borders.

The Kids with Grandma and Grandpa at Grandpa's Studio
We took Lolo to the book club with us, but Ollie and Nena stayed with Grandpa at the Studio. They drew pictures, ate animal cookies--the pink and white ones with little colored sprinkles and watched Spiderman 1. They were in good hands with Grandpa!!!!! Although I think Grandpa needed a nap afterwards.
Nancy Drew Book Club
We had so much fun today at our book club. We discussed The Clue of the Dancing Puppet and The Moonstone Castle Mystery. One life lesson that we learned from Nancy is that sometimes you just need to lie down on your bed for 20 minutes or so to sort things out. I love that!!! Sometimes we just need a "time out!!!"
Worrying so much about my blog that I am not really living in the moment
I realize that sometimes when I am doing something really fun I am thinking, "I have to get the best picture of this experience to put it on my blog," and by having this mentality, I am not really "in" the moment so I need to just "chill" and see what comes out on my camera. I am taking my camera to the Nancy Drew Book Club today to get some pictures for my blog. Wish me luck!!!! The funniest part of all of it is I only know of a few people that even visit my blog! Ha!

Living in the Now
A couple of days ago I was taking Elena and Ollie on a bike ride in mustard and ketchup and I was admiring the daffodils (a plant of the genus Narcissus) and I was thinking one day they weren't there and then the next day they were. Well, I thought about that and I thought to myself, "You are wrong about that kind of because it is a slower process, we just don't take time to look." So my goal is to really observe the whole process. I want to do that with my kids too. I want to enjoy every moment with them when they're little like this. I love them soooooooo much as you can tell by all the pictures of them on my blog. If you have any feedback on this living in the "Now," let me now.

Easter at the Green House
Garcia's 50th Wedding Anniversary
This is by far one of the nicest and most meaningful celebrations I have ever been to. We felt so lucky to be there and we enjoyed just being "out" together (dancing, renewing our old friendships and sharing momentous occasions with those we love). We got to see our dear, dear friends Tino and Joanna. They are like family. What a special night!!!

Finishing Projects
I admit it. I have a lot of projects that I have started and that I need to finish. I am hoping that by posting them on my blog, I will feel more obligated to finish them so feel free to ask me how they are coming along and if I've finished them yet. Two that I am working on now are the sweater and the quilt. The quilt I started two years ago and I am just about done with the binding. Shouldn't be long. The sweater I started maybe about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago. Wish me luck. I have a rug I want to finish hooking too. That is next on the list.

Lolo's Sweater
This sweater is now going to be for Lolo--that is how long I've been working on it!!!!
Pulling out my knitting
O.K. I'm really trying to finish this sweater that I started to knit for Elena. Don't laugh. I just pulled out about 5 rows and I am trying not to give up. On Sunday night my circular needles broke and I took my knitting into Heinselman's (sp?) the next day and my cute friend fixed my knitting and sent me home with a new pair of needles. We had a nice conversation which included Anthony and how he went way too young and I told her what C.S. Lewis said about, "He ceased to meet us in particular places in order to meet us everywhere." She liked that so much, the cute lady wrote it down. She also loved Paolo and wanted to trade him for some yarn. I had to politely tell her, "Not a chance." Wish me luck on this project. Elena is climbing all over me.
