Making ghee and khitchri




Pat got me into making some Indian cuisine when I was in Eau Claire. I love the ghee. I put some fennel seeds in 1/3 of the batch and the khitchri was delish. It's made with basmati rice and I used green chard and sweet potatoes and onions. It's not hard to make. I must admit--I ruined the first batch of ghee--I think I cooked it too long. It is great on toast.

YUM!! Don't you just loooooooooove Indian food? I wish I could take you to my favorite place here. Although it's not as good as Bombay House, come to think of it!! But it has a really good buffet!
